You still need to clear Customs legally.

yes, you do need a passport on a private jet. In order to land in an airport in another country, you need to go through customs. This means that the customs agents check your plane (sometimes luggage as well) to make sure you aren’t smuggling anything into the country and that you pass all the health requirements (vaccinations etc) to enter the country. This is also when they check your passport

everyone has to go thru the same process unless you are diplomat on a official visit

  4. Imaka Says:

Yes, you still need a passport. People who travel on private jets also have to clear customs and immigration.

The rules on passports for private air travel are the same as those for commercial air travel, or auto travel, or on foot.

The biggest difference with private air travel is that you’re responsible for filing a flight plan. The penalty for failure to do so is sometimes as severe as air-to-air combat.

Any country that requires a U.S. Citizen to have a valid passport upon entry will deny entry to those who don’t have one.

U.S. Citizens don’t require a passport (yet) to enter Mexico….just an original birth certificate and a government issued photo I.D.

Yes, you would still need to go through customs. You would have to file a flight plan and get permission to land at the airport of your destination. And once you exited the plane, you would have to show your passport at customs.
