Do you think Skipping the debates is a ploy by McCain, dosen’t he realize he has a private jet?

THE MESSIAH asked:

I can understand a normal person, But McCain can take a private jet from Mississippi to Washington in 2 hours, why does he want to skip the debates… is this another McCain trick?

    YES

He’s going becasuse he wants to help out with the bill… but how can he. he’s been in the government for 26 or more years… and he still states that the ECONOMY IS NOT HIS STRONG POINT.

What kind of help is he going to be….I WOULDN’t even want Obama to help out with it either… let the people who have studied the economy for a living take care of this.

I don’t mind if they oversee it… but they don’t have enough knowledge on this issue.

mc cain needs to knock it off

he doesn’t realize we’ve mastered flight yet.

  4. GreasyTony Says:

Shows us that he can’t multitask.
How can we have a President that can’t handle a variety of issues at once.

  5. Black Man For McCain Says:

What are you smoking? Obama has been dodging McCain since the end of the Democratic primaries. McCain vehemently challenged Obama to town hall debates for months. So who’s dodging who?

  6. G L Dbb Says:

I think that it is a ploy.

Hiding is not what we need. We need to see strength right now. Some encouragement. For the presidential candidates to come together on a grand stage. Spark some confidence in us. Instead, he wants to do the exact opposite. Being president means being able to handle multiple crisis’ at a time. Might as well keep Bush, if we want someone who is going to go virtually unseen as the world fall downs around us.

To BM for McCain. Debates are much different than town hall meetings. These debates have been scheduled for weeks now. We always knew that there would be 3 debates. Why in the world do they need to have weekly town hall meetings, as well? That’s ridiculous.

  7. Jacob W Says:

This is the most important vote in the Senate right now. It will have a major impact on America’s economy as well as the world’s economy. Both of these candidates are Senators and the de facto leaders of their parties. A dopey foreign policy debate can wait. This is where the most important decision that the new President and America will have to live with for years is being made. We need all hands on deck.

As much as Obama was hoping he would not have to take a stand on the issue one way or the other, he really should. I just hope he does not show up and vote “Present” again.

Obama, McCain and Biden are all still Senators. They could have quit the Senate to run but they chose not to, well then, they should be manning their seats in the Senate for this super important vote.

What harm would it be to postpone the debate a few days, anyway?

  8. Yenmor Says:

    “trick”….or “ploy”

McCain realizes Obama has the lead. He was to stop the momentum. He trying to look like he is putting country first….he hasn’t a clue what to say regarding the economy.

He should have asked for the topic of the debate to be changed but not cancel the debates.

McCain is not President so how is he going to handle this crisis.

  9. Armywife2248 Says:

    Yes, it is.

  10. bluechristy12 Says:

MCCAIN HAS ALWAYS BEEN ARROGANT and now he is old – I wonder -Is this a game to him ? Or has he forgotten about Jets ? Hopefully he will NOT be fling one him self.

  11. KIZIAH Says:

McCain’s been so busy leading Sarah Palin around and showing her the ropes that he hasn’t had time yet to look at a globe, let alone study for the debate. He’s had several gaffes where geography was concerned lately, so I think he’s just not ready.

I think he’s also trying to blow himself up like birds do to look bigger than they are–like he’s the only one who can solve the problem. Well, he’s part OF the problem.

  12. question212 Says:

He is going to help debate the problem. You don’t get this over with in a few minutes.

  13. RY Says:

That is exactly what I have said- no need to skip the debate, it is at night on Friday and the committee said they will not be working Friday night, if they were McCain is not on that committee. Obama never said he would not go to Washington, he can do both- multitask

  14. CHAR L Says:

    Yes it is a ploy

    My own spin..
Since he has already Muzzled Palin I think he is about to write her a “Sick Note” stating something to the effect that there is something wrong with one of her kids and that she can NO longer run so he can pick someone else as his VP

This has NOTHING to do with him putting the “Country First”
He has had 26 years to put the “Country First” and has done NOTHING but sit on his Butt,,
He wants to be the first to stand in line with his hands out to get his cut of the Bail Out Money….
MR. “I know nothing about economics” “There is NOTHING to worry about the economy is fine”
MR. I am going to ridicule Bush and tell him to do his damn job and stop the Bail Out and then turn around and say “The Bail Out Was Necessary”

    Oh and the Kicker
“WE WANT TO WIN THE IRAQ WAR”

    Stop The Bush Ideals
Stop The Bush way of Running The Country
    Stop The WAR

    Obama / Biden 08

    Reminder
He isn’t Just Postponing the Debates he is Postponing
    his WHOLE CAMPAIGN

He is a “COWARD”!!!! Plain and simple

  15. April Says:

He is not SKIPPING the debate!!
Don’t you understand the difference between postponing and skipping????

It’s clear you have no idea of what happens at negotiations and the time they take. Negotiations at the senate is not like I am there for a couple of hours and then leave to do something else.
That’s Obama’s way to do it, that’s why he just voted “present”.

  16. Sage Says:

He knows the truth about Palin and is hiding from everything trying to work out an exit strategy!!

If McCain gets elected and dies Palin becomes president!!

She has wanted to break up the Union by giving Alaska it’s independence.

She wants to breach the constitution by forcing creation and religion into schools and government.

She has banned a long long list of books from the library on religious grounds.

She is being investigated for using her position to attack and sack an ex family member and tellingly those around her are refusing to give evidence! Now surely if they could give evidence that cleared her they would want to do so!!!

So what if she gets into power? Constitution torn up? Union broken up? Burning books? Banning free speech? Using her position for personal reasons? Recognize the description of a third world dictator yet?

If there is even a slight chance of her gaining power then be afraid BE VERY AFRAID!!!

  17. Captain Blotto Says:

YEP! That’s what I’m screamin’ over here!

Hey, spammer — I don’t like that, and neither does Yahoo. Time to cut the sh*t pal.

  18. gregory_dittman Says:

After the Northridge earthquake, Al Gore was hours late to a 5 minute speech even though Al Gore was literally across the street. The area is going to be locked down tighter than the Green Zone in Iraq. The University spent $5 million on this even, most of which is probably security. It’s going to probably take 5 hours just to get to their planes and another 5 hours to get from the airport in Washington DC to their chairs to vote.

  19. Hazel H Says:

No, At least he’s thinking about us americans and putting us first.
Instead of ,like obama ,only caring about the votes to win in november to give him power.

  20. John B Says:

the fundamentals are still working so well,,, that we need to postpone the debate and concentrate on saving the life styles of these poor bankers

  21. Barry J Says:

At least this way McCain will get to use the Obama miracle political “PRESENT” button ; and Obama has only 3 choices YES , NO , PRESENT , and he can`t do either of them because he is comfortable on an empty stage just as he is in his empty suit !!

  22. Put on a Happy Face! Says:

    I agree with April’s answer!

There are more important things happening and it has to be finalized by Monday..McCain has returned to help represent the republicans because the democrats have already decided, blindly I might add, to give Wall Street Welfare !

He hasn’t skipped it, he’s put it off until the following week, just as he had to do for the hurricane.

    Also, rumor has it that Obama is the one skipping out because of the F.B.I’s investigation inot HIS part of the missing money, and the investigation is based on the following;

Senator Obama received more political contribution money from now-collapsed mortgage banks Fannie Mae [Federal National Mortgage Association] and Freddie Mac [Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp] than all but one of the 353 other senators and congressmen who received political contributions from these two entities which were recently taken over by the federal government.

Even more dramatic is the fact that 19 years (from 1989 – 2008) of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac political contribution statistics show Senator Obama received his $120,349 despite having been in the U.S. Senate for just three years. Only Senator Chris Dodd, Democrat of Connecticut — who has been in Congress for 33 years (1975-81, House of Representatives; 1981-Present, Senate) — received more.
